Student Success Measures

Dakota State University has instituted a 40-60-80-100 goal as part of its strategic planning initiatives, with a goal to increase 4-year graduation rates to 40%, 6-year graduation rates to 60%, freshmen retention rates to 80%, and a 100% graduate placement rate. While not included in the 40-60-80-100 measure, the institution also has a 93% persistence goal.

The Office of Institutional Research tracks persistence, retention, graduation, and degrees awarded on an annual basis. Graduate placement is calculated annually by the Career and Professional Development Office. Together, the two offices work together to measure progress toward the university’s 40-60-80-100 goals.
